I never seem to have enough time to read. There may be just too many books on my “to be read” pile. I’m always drawn to the vintage books section of our local used book store where I’ve found many classic Christian works from a bygone era. The old preachers and teachers from a hundred years ago wrote about the very same concerns we have in our churches today, though they were quite a bit more bold in their writing back then. Reading gives us an opportunity to expand our mind, consider views different from our own, and hopefully inspire us to strive to be a better person.

My passion for writing developed from seeing how God worked through the written words of others to change my thoughts and attitudes. He used writers to help me understand the principles and doctrines of the Bible so I can work on being a more Christ-like servant. I then realized that the technical writing skills I had gained over the years in my job as a mechanical engineer were part of God’s way of training me to write for Him.

My writing usually includes personal stories and it was difficult for me in the beginning to publish those for the world to see. But God kept moving obstacles out of the way and pushing me forward to create SeedSowing.org and publish my work. Updates may seem to come a little slow at times on this blog but I’ve learned not to force God’s timing. A book is also in the works to be hopefully late in 2022, but again, just trusting God’s perfect timing.

I hope my words encourage you to spend more time studying God’s word, more time in prayer, and more time doing what God is calling you to do.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
